Job Summary
Experienced full-time Crane Technician needed to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic mobile cranes (including all-terrain and boom trucks) and related equipment. Responsibilities include performing scheduled maintenance on trucks, cranes, forklifts, and other equipment; documenting maintenance and repairs; complying with OEM specifications and DOT rules; reading operating manuals and technical drawings; and communicating safety issues on location. Requires proficiency with electrical and hydraulic systems, CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, CCS, LICCON, ability to work overtime/weekends, valid driver’s license, TWIC or ability to obtain TWIC, and lifting up to 40 lbs. Must supply own tools and work under supervision of the Maintenance Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Be able to perform inspections, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various hydraulic mobile cranes including all terrain, rough terrain, boom trucks, etc.
- Must have experience as a mechanic with electrical and hydraulics in modern crane technology.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, CCS, and LICCON systems.
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least (3) years’ experience as a crane mechanic in an automotive, trucking or heavy equipment environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
- Reads and understand operating, parts manuals, and technical drawings.
- Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modifications to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications, as well as all DOT rules and regulations.
- Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision
- Observe and maintain all equipment according to all safety requirements.
- Properly maintain all reports, (times sheets, work orders, expense reports, etc.)
- Ability to work overtime as well as on weekends.
- Possess valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and have a TWIC card or be able to readily acquire TWIC card.
- Ability to safely lift over 40 lbs.
