Mobile Crane Manager

Job Summary
Inspect, diagnose, and repair gasoline, diesel, and electric cranes, hoists, and related heavy equipment, including assembling and disassembling lattice boom and hydraulic units. Perform preventative maintenance, read blueprints and schematics for accurate repairs, and conduct quality checks to verify proper operation. Lead assembly tasks at job sites, document all service activities per regulatory standards, and respond promptly to breakdowns or emergencies to minimize downtime. Adhere to OSHA, DOT, and company safety regulations while maintaining a clean work environment. Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to resolve complex mechanical issues.
Required Qualifications
- NYS Crane License (Class A preferred)
- Experience in assembly and disassembly of all styles of cranes
- Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Knowledge of crane safety regulations and procedures for servicing heavy equipment
- Knowledge of safe and proper use of tools, diagnostic devices, and lifting equipment
- Ability to read and understand repair manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams
- Basic math skills, including algebra and geometry, for measurements and calculations
- Recordkeeping and documentation skills for maintenance and inspection logs
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Ability to adhere to established work schedules with regular and reliable attendance
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in crane assembly and disassembly
- Class A CDL license, OSHA 10/30 Construction, or Crane Inspector certification (preferred but not required)
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic systems and repair software
