Job Summary
Mobile Cleaner position with BGIS Sustainable Cleaning Solutions in Toronto, ON. Responsibilities include cleaning floors (sweeping, scrubbing, vacuuming), mopping, stripping and finishing hard surface floors (manual or with power equipment), transporting garbage and supplies, cleaning glass areas and washrooms, following chemical and power equipment procedures to prevent damage, and performing additional duties as assigned. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, work weekends/holidays, follow instructions, and meet security clearance requirements with a valid Class G license. Emphasis on health and safety, quality control, and customer satisfaction within an environmentally sustainable framework.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in performing various cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance activities in an institutionalized environment.
- Experience in using floor maintenance machines, cleaning equipment, materials and solutions.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.
- Ability to lift, push and pull heavy items as well as climb ladders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients and the general public.
- Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays and shifts as assigned as well as work in multiple locations.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, prepare and maintain manual and electronic records.
- Must meet security clearance requirements, where applicable
- Must have a valid Class G license (required)
