Job Summary
Prepare, cook, bake, and serve a variety of foods in quantity at an assigned school site while maintaining strict health department and USDA regulations. Operate standard kitchen equipment and cash registers to perform Point of Service duties, including collecting payments and processing meals. Document temperatures, sanitize facilities, manage inventory, and complete daily production sheets to validate food safety and operational standards. Assist with special events, train staff, and perform manager duties during absences. This 30-hour contract position spans 181 days during the 2026-2027 school year, reporting to the Food Service Manager 1.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma, G.E.D., Certificate or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a G.E.D.
- Completion of district required staff trainings
Desired Qualifications
- One year experience in cooking and baking food in large quantities
- Previous cashiering experience
- Knowledge of the National School Lunch Program (NSLP)
