Job Summary
Produce, report, write, voice, edit, and feed daily hard-news stories for television, streaming, and social platforms. Pitch at least three relevant local news stories per shift to news managers and producers. Arrange interviews with sources providing information or engaging content for streaming shows. Shoot, edit, and perform all stories while reviewing copy for errors in grammar and punctuation. Research background information to ensure complete and accurate reporting. Ensure all content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Write stories for web and eMedia platforms. Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience preferred
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required
- Experience in news reporting
- Superior on-air presence, with the ability to perform live reporting from a news scene
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Flexibility to work any shift
