Job Summary
KSWO seeks a multimedia reporter who can lead important enterprise stories and connect with the community across broadcast, digital, and social media. The role requires excellent time management, writing skills, and an energetic live presence. Responsibilities include writing, reporting, shooting, editing and executing live shots, while contributing daily to KSWO's digital and social content. Candidates must develop a network of sources, participate in story selection, and respond to breaking news. Strong communication skills, ethical journalism decision-making, and familiarity with equipment and social media are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent news writing and visual storytelling ability
- Ability to make ethical journalism decisions
- Ability to lift 35-40 lbs. of gear
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays if needed
- Candidate must pass a drug screen and possess a good driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with digital video cameras
- Experience with non-linear editing
- Knowledge of social media platforms
