MMIP Coordinator

Job Summary

Coordinate MMIP grant activities, deliverables, and compliance while managing case databases and tracking outcomes for missing and murdered Indigenous persons. Lead prevention strategies, awareness campaigns, and youth engagement initiatives alongside statewide collaborations and search-and-rescue partnerships. Serve as a liaison to Tribal communities, law enforcement, and service providers to assist victims with resources, protective orders, and publication costs. Provide empathetic, on-call support during Feather Alerts and maintain policies, forms, and educational materials to enhance response efforts. Process invoices and travel requests in accordance with organizational policies.

Required Qualifications

  • Must acknowledge and agree to maintain a Drug-Free workplace as a condition of employment with the Pala Band of Mission Indians
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug testing during employment
  • Must successfully pass a Fingerprint-based background check of potential employees, volunteers, and contractors pursuant to Public Law 101-630 - Indian Child Protection and Family Violence Prevention Act
  • Must pass a background check
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including on-call availability
  • Must adhere to the Tribal Employee Handbook of the Pala Band of Mission Indians
  • Must adhere to any additional applicable addendums
  • Minimum two years of experience in community outreach, victim services, youth services, grant management, Tribal programs, or related fields

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred in Human Services, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Native American Studies, Public Administration, Behavioral Health, or related field
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities, victim advocacy, or case management preferred
  • Strong understanding of MMIP issues, law enforcement processes, and victim services
  • Indian preference will apply
  • The Pala Band of Mission Indians will give hiring preference to fully qualified applicants that are Pala Tribal Members
