Job Summary
Medical Laboratory Technician performs high complexity testing in a hybrid emergency room and urgent care setting, maintains performance records, utilizes independent judgment to generate acceptable test results within QC standards, and follows standard operating procedures to ensure accurate results. The role involves laboratory testing across Blood Banking (Immunohematology), Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology, with on-site imaging and lab services in a 24/7 facility; requires a two-year diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or related bioscience and certification as an MLT by ASCP or AMT within 6 months of hire. The position is based in Sellersburg, IN, at Baptist Health ER & Urgent Care.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of a two-year diploma or equivalent in any biological science or chemical science from an accredited/approved educational institution and successful completion of the Medical Laboratory Technology training program which includes Blood Banking (Immunohematology), Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology; OR A minimum of a two-year diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology which includes Blood Banking (Immunohematology), Chemistry, Hematology, and Microbiology.
