Job Summary
The Hospital MLS is responsible for performing moderately complex and highly complex laboratory procedures under the direction of the laboratory manager. Key responsibilities include performing laboratory testing, ensuring precise results, training less experienced staff, and checking the operating efficiency of laboratory equipment. Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in the relevant fields and provide data aiding in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, while adhering to safety practices and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution
- Valid certification/registration with ASCP or AMT (preferred)
- At least 5 years of laboratory management or supervisory experience (for associate degree holders)
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices
- Good communication skills, computer knowledge, and the ability to work as a team
