Job Summary
Multilingual Learner (MLL) Teacher at Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools provides English language development support to students whose dominant language is not English. Responsibilities include developing lesson plans and instructional materials, delivering individualized and small group instruction, establishing a conducive classroom environment, maintaining student behavior standards, guiding learning toward curriculum goals, employing diverse instructional techniques, evaluating student growth, communicating with parents, collaborating with colleagues, coordinating and administering WIDA Screener and ACCESS 2.0 English language tests, and maintaining compliance with school policies. Requires NC teaching license with ESL licensure; Bachelor's Degree required; prior teaching experience preferred. The role emphasizes translating the board-adopted course of study into effective instruction for English language learners and maintaining professional growth through district-provided and self-selected activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Holds or is eligible to hold a NC teaching license; ESL licensure area
- Certification in additional core content licensure areas preferred
