Job Summary
Multilingual Learner (MLL) teacher responsible for instructing English language learners to read, speak, listen, and write English toward grade-level proficiency. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; provides individualized and small group instruction; creates a conducive classroom environment; maintains pupil behavior standards; communicates with parents; collaborates with colleagues; coordinates WIDA Screener and ACCESS 2.0 English language tests; participates in curriculum development and related duties; requires NC teaching license with ESL licensure. Ten-month schedule; 50% at Phillips Middle School and 50% at East Chapel Hill High School; Bachelor's degree and ESL licensure are required; prior teaching experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Holds or is eligible to hold a NC teaching license; must have ESL licensure area
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Certification in additional core content licensure areas preferred
- Prior teaching experience preferred
