Job Summary
Perform data analysis to build proof-of-concepts comparing machine learning and non-machine learning solutions. Develop statistical, machine learning, or optimization models while making effective tradeoffs between accuracy, productization complexity, and runtime performance. Write production-quality, well-tested code that scales to serve millions of daily requests, participating in code reviews and incident triaging. This role requires a critical thinker with 3+ years of ML experience to join the ETA team, which estimates ride times for matching, pricing, and user experience. The position is based in San Francisco with a hybrid schedule of three in-office days per week.
Required Qualifications
- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or other quantitative fields or related work experience
- 3+ years of Machine Learning experience
- Ability to work in distributed teams spread across time zones. (North America and Europe)
- Team Members will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
- Lyft considers working in the office at least 3 days per week to be an essential function of this hybrid role
Desired Qualifications
- Nice-to-have: Experience with big data processing / distributed data pipelines and tools such as Apache Airflow and Spark
