Job Summary
Translate and interpret for students and families; work with individual students or small groups to reinforce learning or materials introduced by the teacher; assist in devising strategies for reinforcing material based on individual needs; assist with large/small group activities such as drill work, reading aloud and storytelling; serve as the chief information source for substitutes in the regular teacher's absence; alert the teacher to problems affecting instruction; assist with student arrival and dismissal; guide independent study and remedial work; fingerprinting background check required; position classified as Para Educator Contract with up to 27.5 hours per week in Hamtramck Public Schools.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Two years of college
- Passed Work Keys
- Passed MTTC or ETS Paraprofessional Assessment
- Fluency in Arabic or Bangla
