Job Summary
Conduct crop selection, season planning, and vegetable cultivation for soil health while operating farm equipment like tractors and weed whackers. Lead educational workshops, guest speaker events, and community outreach to connect with 500+ volunteers and distribute fresh produce through UVA Dine and CSA programs. Maintain GAP-compliant logs, capture program archives, and coordinate with faculty to execute the Morven Sustainability Lab Strategic Action Plan. Work 6-10 weekly hours Monday-Friday during Fall 2026 at a paid rate of $15/hour, including fresh produce.
Required Qualifications
- Current full-time student at UVA (both graduate and undergraduate students welcome)
- Must have reliable means of transportation to and from their work shift each day
- Must be able to interact and communicate respectfully with persons of all backgrounds
- Must be able to safely lift 40 pounds unassisted
- Must work a consistent weekly schedule within the Monday-Friday 8am-5pm timeframe
- Occasional weekend or evening shifts may be required
