Job Summary
Sort, stock, and label medications while maintaining the drug inventory system and processing prescriptions for patients. Document and file physician orders, respond to patient and provider inquiries, and refer questions to the Pharmacy Manager. Ensure accurate prescription processing, record charges, and deliver medications at the counter while assisting with insurance questions and drug assistance programs. Sterilize equipment and surfaces to comply with safety regulations. Under supervision, measure, mix, and label medication dosages before dispensing oral and over-the-counter medications to patients.
Required Qualifications
- Active SC Pharmacy Technician registration or SC State-Certified Pharmacy Technician registration
- Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician
- Computer skills: Electronic medical records systems, pharmacy systems, Microsoft Office
- Knowledge and understanding of Community Pharmacy daily operations as they pertain to filling, processing, and/or dispensing of oral medications
- Knowledge and understanding of the practice of community-based pharmacy
- Ability to work effectively with all departments, vendors, and consultants
