Job Summary
Conduct batch formulation, mixing, and quality color matching/tinting for paint dispersion within production tanks. Measure and deliver approved raw materials, thickeners, and thinners using electronic gauges and valves to ensure accurate dispersion. Perform quality control checks and rework procedures per Central Lab specifications to maintain first-run capability. Communicate with milling and packaging departments to coordinate batch transfers and filter maintenance. Utilize color spectrophotometer expertise to match customer specifications and operate forklifts and fill-by-weight machinery. Maintain work area cleanliness and adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines. Work M-F 3:00 pm – 10:30 pm with occasional overtime and weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree
- Basic math skills, i.e.: addition/subtraction
- Previous experience in and demonstrated ability to accurately match color specifications
- Ability to work in a team environment and work cross-functionally
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and cleanliness
- Ability to use company software and computer system programs
- Good interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work safely and follow SOP's
- Ability to operate fill by weight machine, video jet, labeler, palletizer, case packer, can and carton computer and depalletizer
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. continuously throughout shift
- Ability to use respirator and proper PPE (eye protection, safety shoes)
- Ability to work overtime (up to 4 hours past regularly scheduled shift) and weekends when required
