Job Summary

Design, develop, and verify read-out ICs (ROICs) for visible and infrared focal plane arrays, including analog signal chains, digital timing, and low-power ADCs. Evaluate the process flow from design to synthesis, place and route, and timing/power use. Determine architecture, logic design, and system simulation while defining module interfaces. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on chip architecture, specification, verification, validation, fabrication, packaging, debugging, and test development. Work onsite in Goleta, CA. Requires a STEM degree with 2+ years of experience in CMOS IC design using Cadence and Mentor Graphics tools, plus proficiency in Python and MATLAB.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience
  • Advanced Degree in a related field
  • Experience or course work in CMOS Integrated Circuit (IC) design at the transistor level using IC Design Flows and tools
  • Experience with CAD tools such as Cadence and Mentor Graphics (Siemens)
  • Analysis and programming tools such as MATLAB
  • Computer programming or scripting languages such as Python
  • Onsite work in Goleta, CA

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience or course work in ROIC architecture, design concepts, operational control and timing
  • Experience or course work with high-end UNIX based software design tools for circuit simulation and analysis such as noise analysis and for physical design, automation, and verification
  • Modelling experience or course work with System Verilog/Real Modelling/Verilog AMS and coding synthesizable RTL
  • Familiarity with semiconductor device physics
  • Familiarity with semiconductor processing
  • Physical design (including the ability to perform hand layout of critical analog & mixed-signal circuits)
  • Testing
  • Advanced degrees in STEM discipline such as Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics or a related discipline
