Job Summary
Assess water damage class and origin, then utilize drying equipment per IICRC guidelines while taking moisture readings and creating maps. Build containment systems, determine negative pressure placement, and identify asbestos or mold risks following safety protocols. Monitor affected areas until dry and safe, maintain records, and work safely in confined spaces with proper PPE. Participate in on-call rotation as needed. Valid Ontario G Driver's License and clean driving record required.
Required Qualifications
- At least 1+ year of restoration/mitigation experience
- Valid Ontario G Driver's License & Clean Driving Record
- Ability to Pass a Police Background Check
- Physical ability to lift 75+ lbs, work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and handle physical labor
- Ability to work flexible hours or shifts as needed
- Strong team player, able to collaborate with employees, contractors/vendors, and the public
- Ability to identify and report hazards and apply safe work methods
- Ability to use and maintain hand, power, and truck-mounted tools
- Ability to develop, learn, and apply operating and work procedures
- Strong planning, organizational, and time-management skills
- Ability to follow both written and oral instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, contractors, and clients
- Ability to meet predetermined deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Water Restoration (WRT), Fire & Smoke (FSRT), Applied Structural Drying (ASD), Asbestos Worker, or Applied Microbial Remediation (AMRT) certification (or willingness to obtain)
Desired Qualifications
- Mitigation Technicians must hold or be working towards 2-4 certifications as part of their career development
