Job Summary
Mitigation Crew Chief leads restoration crews on fire, water, mold, and storm damage projects, overseeing jobsite operations, supervising technicians, ensuring quality work, and delivering customer service throughout the mitigation process. The role requires hands-on leadership in fast-paced environments with strong knowledge of restoration procedures, drying practices, and safety standards. Responsibilities include supervising mitigation technicians on residential/commercial projects, responding to emergency service calls, performing water extraction, demolition, structural drying, drying equipment setup and moisture readings, maintaining accurate job documentation, communicating with customers/insurance representatives, training and mentoring technicians, maintaining vehicle/equipment/warehouse cleanliness, enforcing PPE safety, and participating in rotating on-call schedules. Preferred certifications include WRT, ASD, AMRT, and OSHA Safety. Competencies include strong communication, leadership, organizational skills, and the ability to work extended hours during emergencies.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1–3 years of restoration or mitigation experience preferred
- Previous leadership or crew supervision experience preferred
- Strong understanding of water mitigation and structural drying procedures
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to work in physically demanding and fast-paced environments
- Preferred Certifications: IICRC WRT, ASD, AMRT, OSHA Safety Certification
