Job Summary
Manager in Training will fully manage store staff and operations in the absence of Store Manager and Assistant Manager, as part an entry-level management role. Responsibilities include driving sales and profitability, communicating store goals, evaluating performance (sales volume, hourly production, UPTs, charge accounts, loss prevention), directing staff, executing floor set guides and promotions, maintaining merchandise presentation to Visual Merchandising standards, identifying customer merchandise needs, coordinating markdowns/transfers, and ensuring cleanliness of sales floor and stockroom. Key partners include Store Management, Human Resources, District Manager, and Asset Protection. Required to be 18+, with retail experience preferred, and high school diploma or equivalent; strong customer service, communication, organization, problem solving, leadership, and adaptability are emphasized. Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree a plus but not required
- At least 2+ years’ experience in retail preferred
- Able to respond to store alarm problems as needed
- Communication and organizational skills
- Strong drive to achieve results
- Takes initiative and has problem solving skills
- Candidate will be required to stand for long periods of time throughout their shift
- Lifting between 15-30 pounds
