Mission Systems Lead Software Architect

Lead the Mission Systems software architecture for Boeing’s defense programs by owning the architecture, guiding design decisions, and managing architecture through design, implementation, integration, and sustainment. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for Mission Systems software across multiple security levels and suppliers, setting architecture standards, driving system-level integration and conformance, and coordinating with Digital Engineering Environment, Systems Engineering, Customers, and Program Leadership to ensure mission readiness. Develop and maintain the architecture roadmap, approve development plans, ensure documentation of architecture, requirements, interfaces, and detailed designs, and drive containerized software architecture. Evaluate supplier performance, coordinate across multidisciplinary teams, and mentor others while delivering artifacts for program reviews and customer deliverables. Basic qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years in C/C++/C#, with 5+ years in software development and embedded systems, plus 3+ years leading technical teams and working with requirements, design, development, and testing of software systems. Desired experience includes open architectures (AMS/GRA, OMS, UCI, OCI), Linux platform development, Agile processes, safety-critical and security-conscious software development, and the ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
