Job Summary
Mission Data & Simulation Integration Engineer - a senior-level role embedded across multiple space mission programs. Design and implement data pipelines and integration services linking ASOT platforms to modernized Modeling & Simulation software, ensuring data quality, traceability, and centralized data consumption. Translate mission needs into technical data specifications, provide hands-on support for M&S tools, build data transformation logic, support migration of legacy data to modern Data Management platforms, and collaborate across diverse programs and stakeholders to optimize data schemas and access patterns for simulation workloads.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM or other technical discipline
- 8 or more years of increasingly responsible professional software engineering roles, especially related to modeling & simulation (DE, M&S) and data
- Experience with simulation designs and related technologies such as HLA, DIS, TENA, Protobuf, Apache Kafka
- Background in cloud technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
- Proficiency in one or more core languages (Python or C++)
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, data pipelines, and ETL/ELT processes
- Experience with APIs, web services, and data integration frameworks
- Familiarity with software factories, DevSecOps, and CI/CD
- Ability to communicate effectively through technical writing and presentations
- Willingness to travel occasionally to corporate or customer locations
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance; U.S. citizenship required
