Job Summary
Conduct hands-on electrical commissioning training and mentorship for engineers and technicians on mission-critical data center and advanced manufacturing projects. Embed with project teams to develop junior personnel through supervised execution of L2 installation verification through L5 integrated systems testing. Provide practical instruction on MV/LV switchgear, transformers, generators, and electrical testing including insulation resistance, breaker testing, and energization readiness per NFPA 70E. Coordinate with Commissioning Managers to identify training opportunities, develop individual training plans, and assess technical progression. Identify knowledge gaps, create targeted training materials, and ensure consistent execution of testing methodology and documentation standards across global sites. Maintain flexibility for 75–90% travel, including extended assignments at project locations.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on electrical commissioning experience within data center, semiconductor, or other mission-critical facilities
- Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, including switchgear, transformers, generators, UPS, ATS/STS, PDUs/RPPs, busway, battery systems, protective relays, and EPMS
- Strong understanding of L2–L5 electrical commissioning, startup, energization, functional performance testing, Integrated Systems Testing (IST), and turnover
- Experience performing or overseeing electrical testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of mission-critical power systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, sequences of operation, equipment documentation, and protection studies
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 70E, electrical LOTO/COHE, arc-flash requirements, and safe electrical work practices
- Demonstrated ability to train and mentor Electrical Commissioning Engineers and Technicians through hands-on field instruction
- Strong communication, leadership, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 75–90% to active construction and commissioning project sites
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
- NFPA 70E Electrical Safety training preferred
- Electrical commissioning or electrical testing certification preferred
