Job Summary

Lead the scheduling, design, planning, coordination, execution, and assessment of Mission Readiness and Mission Command Exercises for O5-O6 headquarters staffs. Develop realistic exercise scenarios, synchronize planning across multiple organizations, and direct concept development including master scenario event lists and after-action reviews. Provide senior-level guidance on mission command doctrine, coordinate resources and facilities, and oversee exercise-control functions to ensure adherence to performance objectives. Evaluate headquarters staff performance and prepare reports, briefings, and lessons learned for government leadership. Requires active Secret clearance and extensive Special Operations Forces experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution
  • Graduate of the U.S. Army Special Forces Officer Qualification Course (18A) or Warrant Officer 180A qualification
  • Graduate of Senior Service College or Warrant Officer Senior Service Education
  • Extensive Special Operations Forces (SOF) experience
  • Former Battalion Commander, Chief Warrant Officer at the Special Forces Group level or higher, or equivalent senior SOF leadership position
  • Experience serving as a primary staff officer at the Special Operations Joint Task Force (SOJTF) level or higher
  • Active Secret Security Clearance

  • Demonstrated expertise in exercise design, development, and execution for operational-level headquarters
  • Experience managing exercise-development resources, personnel, and support teams
  • Strong understanding of mission command principles, operational planning, and military decision-making processes
  • Experience supporting Joint, Combined, Interagency, or Special Operations training exercises
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and briefing skills
  • Expert knowledge of Special Operations Forces missions, doctrine, and command structures
  • Advanced understanding of mission command systems, operational planning processes, and headquarters operations
  • Ability to lead senior military personnel through complex training events and readiness exercises
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in dynamic operational environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess training effectiveness and readiness outcomes
