Job Summary

Develop mission autonomy software and infrastructure in C++ that interacts directly with autonomous flight testbeds, including deploying software using containerization technologies. Collaborate with external partners to onboard their autonomy code into internal systems while working within a multi-disciplinary Agile environment. Manage the full software/hardware/network development lifecycle, ensuring adherence to coding standards, code reviews, and source control management. Maintain US Government clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) status as required for this role.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline
  • 2 years of engineering related experience
  • Masters in STEM with 0 years of related engineering experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline
  • 5 years of engineering related experience
  • Masters in STEM with 3 years of related engineering experience
  • Experience with Python
  • Experience with C++
  • Experience with Linux based development environments
  • Experience with Object Oriented Programming concepts
  • Experience with test-driven development practices
  • Experience with Agile best practices and processes
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/network development life cycle
  • Knowledge of coding standards
  • Knowledge of code reviews
  • Knowledge of source control management
  • Knowledge of build processes
  • Knowledge of testing
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP)
  • Experience implementing containerized software using open standards such as OCI (Open Container Initiative)
  • U.S. Citizenship

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience implementing on-board mission system software
  • Experience developing Mission Autonomy software for tasking, routing, or other behaviors
  • Knowledge or experience with Government Reference Architectures like OMS/UCI and A-GRA
  • Knowledge or experience with software infrastructure as code for technologies such as (Kubernetes/K3s, Podman/Docker, Helm, etc.)
  • Experience with Operating System fundamentals such as memory management, scheduling, and concurrency
