Job Summary
Weld steel parts for structural, plate, and miscellaneous steel assemblies per shop drawings and AISC code requirements; identify shapes, sizes, and tolerances; weld according to symbols and procedures; preheat and cut with a torch; clean welds; fabricate sub-pieces; identify errors in shop drawings; operate forklifts and cranes; participate in meetings; maintain consistent 40-hour schedules; read/write basic arithmetic; follow safety standards; maintain AWS certification on 1-inch plate in flat position using GMAW and FCAW; pass required weld and fitting tests and crane-handling procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of six months of welding experience or a one-year degree or certificate in welding technology from a qualified trade school or college.
