Job Summary
Lead the daily development and coaching of pitchers at the Miami Marlins Dominican Republic Academy, focusing on long-term individual growth and organizational pitching philosophy. Collaborate with Player Development staff to create, implement, and monitor personalized development plans while utilizing video, pitch-tracking data, and biomechanics to evaluate performance. Execute bullpens, throwing programs, and game preparation activities, maintaining accurate records and communicating progress to leadership. Build strong relationships with players and work across strength, conditioning, and analytics teams to support comprehensive player development. Operate during the off-season to oversee training goals and adjust plans as needed. Requires ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays while living in the Dominican Republic. Spanish proficiency preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work a professional baseball schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required
- Ability to live and work in the Dominican Republic for the duration of the assignment
Desired Qualifications
- Previous playing, coaching, or player development experience in professional, collegiate, or high-level amateur baseball preferred
- Strong understanding of pitching mechanics, throwing programs, and pitcher development
- Ability and willingness to learn and utilize pitching technology, video, data, and analytical tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to build meaningful relationships with young players
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary Player Development environment
- Demonstrated commitment to continued learning and professional development
- Spanish-language proficiency strongly preferred
- Experience working with Latin American players or within an international baseball environment preferred
