Job Summary
Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation programs for injured Minor League players while performing movement assessments and corrective exercise programming to prevent injuries. Utilize manual therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities to enhance recovery, and educate athletes on best practices for mobility and injury prevention. Collaborate closely with athletic trainers, team physicians, and performance staff to optimize player health, maintain accurate medical records, and report progress to the Assistant Director of Athletic Training and Rehabilitation. Assist with on-field and athletic training room support before, during, and after games. Requires a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and extensive travel during the season.
Required Qualifications
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state of employment
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sports physical therapy
- Willingness to travel extensively during the season
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks
Desired Qualifications
- Proficiency in MLB Electronic Medical Record System (AthleteRMS)
- Certification in Manual Therapy, Strength & Conditioning, or related specialty
- Upper Extremity Fellowship or Orthopedic/Sports Medicine Fellowship
- Experience working with high-performance athletes in rehabilitation and injury prevention
- Experience in professional or collegiate baseball
