Job Summary
Minor Injuries Doctor to assess, diagnose, and treat patients with minor injuries and illnesses. Responsibilities include on-going clinical supervision and case discussion, maintaining high standards of patient care through education and development, performing minor surgical procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care), ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (X-rays, MRI), reviewing imaging reports with patients, providing patient education on injury prevention and management, and collaborating with nurses and radiologists to ensure comprehensive care. The service is supported by weekly fracture clinics with orthopaedic consultants and physiotherapy; liaises with the Lead Doctor and Nurse for feedback on adverse events and quality initiatives; participates in onsite or offsite CPD sessions. Active IMC Registration and experience in Emergency Medicine are required; familiarity with orthopaedics, plastics, paediatrics, and general medicine is preferred; prior experience in the Irish/UK healthcare system is beneficial.
Required Qualifications
- Active IMC (Irish Medical Council) Registration
- Special interest in and previous experience of Emergency Medicine
- Strong working knowledge of orthopaedics, plastics, paediatric and general medicine
- Experience in Irish/UK Healthcare system beneficial
