Job Summary
Sell subscriptions, engage fair attendees, assist customers with sign-ups, restock merchandise, and maintain a clean booth at the Minnesota State Fair from August 27–9. Learn basic onsite technology troubleshooting and subscription talking points during required training before August 20. Work between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 p.m., including weekends, for at least 10 of 12 days while lifting 20–40 lbs. Handle counter-height booth duties for up to 7 hours daily. Join the Minnesota Star Tribune's team to support its journalistic legacy during this peak event.
Required Qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills with a friendly, engaging approach
- Comfortable interacting with Minnesota Star Tribune readers and fair attendees
- Willingness to learn basic onsite technology troubleshooting and use provided training materials
- Ability to quickly learn Star Tribune subscription offerings and talking points
- Able to work in a counter-height booth for up to 7 hours per day
- Available for at least 10 of 12 fair days, including weekends, with shifts between 8:45 a.m. and 9:15 p.m.
- Able to lift 20–40 lbs.
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team
- Flexible, adaptable, and reliable in a fast-paced environment
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.)
