Job Summary
Oversee the transition of resources to reserves and develop efficient mining plans, schedules, and excavation designs to support drilling, blasting, and production operations. Define ore and waste classifications to assess financial feasibility, manage stockpile and waste dump operations, and approve detailed production layouts. Monitor drilling and blasting activities for efficiency, optimize grade control with geologists, and ensure designs align with regulatory standards. Establish production targets, track performance against plans, and report key indicators to align operations with budget targets. Requires 15 years of open pit mine experience, a BSc in Mining Engineering, and proficiency in software like Deswik or Datamine.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 15 years open pit mine production/planning experience
- Experience in running a mining operation
- BSc. in Mining Engineering
- Hands-on experience in drilling and blasting operations
- Expertise in resource-to-reserve conversion, including pit design, mine planning, and scheduling
Desired Qualifications
- Certificates for at least one of the mine designs softwares like Deswik, Datamine, Surpac or Micromine
- Proficiency in using the latest mining software for design, planning, and optimization
