Job Summary
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and repair electrical systems and equipment in active surface and underground mining operations. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, conveyors, crushers, pumps, substations, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, and VFDs. Read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to guide installations of conduit, cable trays, grounding systems, and instrumentation controls. Execute lockout/tagout procedures and ensure full compliance with MSHA, NEC, and site safety requirements while mentoring Apprentice Electricians. This role supports mine infrastructure, processing facilities, and critical mining equipment across industrial and construction environments.
Required Qualifications
- Current Journeyman Electrician License where applicable
- Minimum 5+ years of industrial, mining, or heavy commercial electrical experience
- Strong knowledge of MCCs, switchgear, substations, VFDs, motor controls, and power distribution systems
- Ability to pass site-specific training, drug screening, and background requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and around heavy equipment
- Compliance with all Loenbro EH&S policies and applicable MSHA regulations
