Job Summary
Monitor mine and tailings operations through performance data, design haul roads, earth structures, and pit walls, and assist in developing the annual mine operations budget. Analyze trends to optimize production efficiencies and evaluate planning scenarios to determine the best economic path forward. Create detailed schedules to support mine, tailings, and project execution plans. This student work term spans 4 to 16 months with various shift schedules, starting January, May, or September 2027 in Calgary or Fort McMurray. Candidates must be physically fit, hold a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license, and pass a drug screening.
Required Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in bachelor's degree program in Mining, Mineral or Geological engineering
- Motivated and positive attitude
- Previous engineering or field experience
- Physically and mentally fit for work
- Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract
- Pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
- Legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions
