Job Summary
Evaluate engineering tasks involving the selection, analysis, and improvement of techniques for safe, efficient, and cost-effective mining operations. Prepare drill and blast pattern designs, review results for reconciliation, and provide improvement recommendations. Undertake short-term mine planning, design infrastructure including dumps and haul roads, and prepare dig plans and face maps. Monitor fleet productivity and collect operational data to prepare daily and weekly production reports. This role supports the Technical Services Team at Genesis Minerals' new Tower Hill open pit operation in Leonora, Western Australia, with an 8/6, 4/3 FIFO roster.
Required Qualifications
- Operational site based mining experience
- Sound demonstrated experience in an Open Pit Mine Planning role
- Technical expertise in relation to Open Pit mine design
- Technical expertise in relation to drill and blast
- Technical expertise in relation to optimisation
- Technical expertise in relation to planning
- Expert user of Microsoft Office – Excel
- Proficient with computer scheduling software (Deswick, Surpac, Datamine etc.)
