Mining Engineer Co-Op/Intern - Spring 2027

Job Summary
Conduct day-to-day assignments focused on improving mining conditions and economics, including Mine Planning, Operations Optimization, Quality Control, and Mapping. Communicate with management, plant operators, engineers, and contractors while participating in department and project-specific meetings. Learn all aspects of working at the site, adhering to Mosaic's mission and guiding principles. Perform physical duties in an industrial chemical and mining environment, occasionally outdoors with exposure to varying temperatures. Travel to and from sites or offices using reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Complete post-offer screening, background check, and physical examinations.
Required Qualifications
- Junior level or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Mining Engineering
- 2.75 GPA or higher
- Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Ability to work full time and be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship
- Must be able to safely perform the essential functions of the job without posing a direct threat to the safety of his or her own self, or the safety of others
- Able to lift approximately 0-25 lbs. occasionally
- Able to climb stairs and work at various heights
- Able to distinguish varying or specific colors, patterns or materials
- Able to hear, with or without correction
- Able to read, write and understand basic English
- Able to see, with or without correction
- Able to use fine hand motor skills
- Able to wear a respirator
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to travel to and from sites and/or office
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, or work
- Previous internship or co-op experience
- Familiarity with an industrial environment
- Effective verbal communication skills
- Experience working in a team environment
