Mining and Earthcutting Senior Sales Engineer

Job Summary
Senior Sales Engineer for mining and earthcutting responsible for traveling to North American mining locations, supporting customers at underground and surface sites, evaluating tool performance and cutting conditions, advocating Kennametal products and services, and achieving assigned sales goals. Will serve as primary customer interface for multiple mining accounts, develop new opportunities, maintain and expand market share, collaborate with Application Engineering for in-field testing and product development, and utilize CRM for opportunity pipeline and account planning. Requires engineering background, 3+ years mining industry experience, and 3 years of sales experience (preferred); travel to sites and potential for remote/home-based work from WV/PA/OH; valid driver’s license and passport (Canada or Mexico).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or an associate degree in mechanical engineering or engineering technology
- 3+ years experience in mining industry in USA and/or Canada
- 10+ years experience in mining operations in lieu of degree
- 3 years of successful sales experience preferred
- Driver's license and passport (Canada or Mexico)
- Ability to work independently with little supervision
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to understand complex contract conditions and develop proposals
- Experience with CRM and sales forecasting
