Job Summary
Lead the growth, technical excellence, and strategic direction of the Mineral Processing practice by defining technical vision and commanding client confidence at the executive level. Drive business development across base metals, precious metals, critical minerals, and industrial minerals markets globally while mentoring the next generation of processing engineers. Manage multidisciplinary teams of engineers and metallurgists to deliver feasibility studies, trade-off analyses, and detailed engineering design for greenfield plants and brownfield expansions ranging from 500 to 100,000 tpd. This high-impact senior leadership role requires a recognized subject matter expert with 15+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing design and engineering, including familiarity with international standards and codes. The position involves global travel and offers significant autonomy to shape the future of the practice within a Fortune 500 infrastructure firm delivering tangible community impact.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in Metallurgical, Chemical, or Mineral Processing Engineering (or related field)
- Willingness to travel globally
- All newly hired employees are required to attend an in-person Day 1 onboarding at an AECOM office location as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering preferred or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- 15+ years of progressive experience in mineral processing design and engineering
- Experience working in consulting or EPCM environments on multidisciplinary mining projects
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or Professional Engineer (PE) registration
- Familiarity with international standards and codes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience leading teams, managing technical workstreams, and delivering client-focused solutions
