Job Summary
Collaborate with mine operations, engineering, and drill & blast teams to provide survey guidance including surface data collection via UAV systems, field staking with GPS data collectors, and maintaining As-Built design files. Conduct design updates for digital guidance systems for mining equipment and participate in cross-training with the Drill & Blast Mine Technician for occasional coverage. Once competent, provide survey training to new team members or co-op students while adhering to health and safety programs. Follow a 4x4 day shift schedule in the Elk Valley of British Columbia.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent
- Diploma in Mining, Survey, Geomatics, Engineering technology, or similar relevant diploma/degree
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with survey geospatial tools and processes (GPS data collectors, processing of LiDAR or photogrammetry scans)
- Canadian UAV Pilot Certificate (Advanced preferred)
- Exposure to mine design software, particularly MinePlan3D
- Basic digital literacy and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite®
