Job Summary
Manage day-to-day and strategic direction of mine engineering, including long-range and Life of Mine planning, geology, hydrogeology, tailings, and geotechnical functions. Lead a staff of engineers and technicians to develop mine plans, optimize assets, ensure annual production targets, and support future expansion. Supervise mine design, economic evaluation, cost estimating, productivity forecasting, and equipment selection from pre-scoping through feasibility studies. Personally solve difficult technical problems and incorporate best practices in property evaluation and alternate mining technology. Create an inclusive work environment aligned with company values while reporting directly to the Mine Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Robust and proven HSE record
- Engaging and inclusive leadership skills
- Bachelor's degree minimum, preferably in mine engineering or geoscience
- 10 plus years' experience leading mine technical teams in a senior leadership role
- Knowledge of the key drivers in the mining industry
- Project management skills
- Stakeholder management skills within an integrated operation
- Ability to prepare clear communication in the form of presentations and present projects and annual production updates to senior management
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- MBA or MSc in Finance
- Mine operational experience achieved through management or supervision of a mine operations team
- PE License
