Job Summary
Mine Survey Technologist/Survey Technician role at Horizon Mine (Fort McMurray, Alberta) supporting Mine Operations, Mine Projects, Reclamation, Geology; responsibilities include weekly mine volume reconciliation of ore and waste, accurate survey layout of Mine Engineering designs, QA/QC via as-built survey of in-pit and ex-pit structures, and ongoing field survey support to Mine Operations, Geotechnical, Geology, and Mine Projects. Required qualifications include a Survey Technologist or Geomatics Engineering Technologist certificate or diploma, and typically five years of oil sands mining experience; skills in Maptek, Minesight, PointStudio, and Microsoft Office are preferred, with drone operating as an asset. Required Qualifications
- Survey Technologist certificate or diploma
- Five years of experience in oil sands mining preferred
- Experience with Maptek survey scanners preferred
