Job Summary
Mine Project Engineer at Weeks Island mine: apply engineering knowledge to project planning and execution, oversee capital/expense projects, supervise contractors/internal labor, collaborate with maintenance to integrate new assets, and support surveying, mine maps, and daily production records. Responsibilities include feasibility studies, preparing expense and capital projects, designing and supervising engineering work, maintaining mine drawing records, coordinating equipment purchases and inspections, conducting underground inspections and ventilation/rock mechanics studies, and coordinating construction among engineers, contractors, and supervisors; provide engineering advice to mine management.
Required Qualifications
- Mine Project Engineer Degree
- Ability to work independently with little instruction
- Knowledge of project management
- Able to supervise others
- Able to apply mining engineering principles and concepts
- Able to plan, organize and carry out project assignments from conception to completion
- Able to work in an underground environment
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
