Job Summary
Conduct daily mining operations supervision for up to 52 equipment operators on a rotating 5-4 schedule. Create and maintain a strong safety culture by enforcing standards, conducting inspections, and leading incident investigations. Set operating priorities to achieve daily goals while communicating mine plan objectives to the crew. Provide coaching, administer policies, and track performance evaluations to ensure compliance with safety and environmental procedures. Identify training needs and develop cost-efficient mining practices through collaboration with all departments. Maintain accurate production records and employee training files.
Required Qualifications
- Rotating 5-4 schedule
- Demonstrated leadership and teambuilding skills
- Ability to communicate effectively using all standard forms of business communication
- Excellent organizational and problem solving skills
- Ability to plan and direct work of others
- Instructs in proper use of equipment
- Must be able to multi-task and change priorities quickly
- Must be able to handle an emergency in an effective manner
- A strong safety background
- Proven safety and environmental performance
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mine operations in an open pit mine setting
- Prior supervisory or lead person experience
- Valid Driver License
