Job Summary
Diagnose, estimate, and complete repairs on mobile and fixed equipment, including pumps, conveyors, and crushers, while examining parts for damage using micrometers and gauges. Interpret schematics and OEM standards to perform overhauls, maintenance, and service in a timely fashion to reduce downtime. Test repaired equipment for proper performance before returning it to active duty and return well-documented work orders promptly. Maintain active communication with the Maintenance Supervisor to coordinate work and report equipment conditions for potential issues. Operate and park equipment safely within shop areas, adhering to strict safety policies such as lock-out and tag-out procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) or more years of experience maintaining heavy equipment in a mining, construction or farming environment
- Experience maintaining diesel equipment
- Experience maintaining electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on mobile equipment
- Ability to read and understand schematics of mobile equipment
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Proven excellent safety and attendance record
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Trade school or college degree or certificate in heavy-duty mechanics
