Job Summary
Perform bolting and meshing of mine roof and ribs, apply shotcrete to mine passages, and conduct general labor in production areas including conveyor and ventilation duct maintenance. Safely operate heavy equipment such as roof bolters, front-end loaders, and articulating haul trucks while maintaining equipment and reporting problems to management. Complete daily workplace exams to identify hazards, follow all OSHA and MSHA regulations, and assist other workers as directed. Work night shifts from 3 PM to 11 PM, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays, and be prepared to fill in during absences or increased production demand.
Required Qualifications
- Must place a high priority on attendance
- Self-motivated individual, must be able to perform required duties without constant supervision
- Able to perform a variety of duties, such as manual hands-on labor, maintenance, operating equipment and other duties as assigned
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time throughout the workday, as required to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to learn quickly
- Must be willing to work weekends and overtime
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in tunneling or mine development considered a plus
- Some Heavy Equipment Experience is preferred
