Job Summary
Mine Designer at Alcoa: Develop detailed mine designs for development, production, and rehabilitation; craft precise pit designs and ore/waste extraction plans; contribute to long-, medium-, and short-term mine plans and performance analysis; communicate mine plans to stakeholders; collaborate with multi-disciplinary technical teams to maximize resource value and support sustainable mining practices. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Mine and Engineering Surveying, or related field, and hands-on experience in large open-cut mining; proficiency with Deswik or Surpac; strong analytical and communication skills; willingness to travel within WA locations and work in a hybrid environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geology, Mine and Engineering Surveying, or a closely related field
- Demonstrated experience in large open-cut mining environments
- Proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik or Surpac)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
