Job Summary
Maintain mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air, and conveying systems through preventative, breakdown, and welding repair tasks. Perform heavy equipment and machinery repairs, including aligning motors, sheaves, and sprockets, while identifying failure points and replacing time chains and bearings. Conduct mandatory visual inspections of equipment and facilities before use, ensuring strict adherence to lock-out tag-out procedures and safe work practices. Learn and apply lean business practices to streamline processes and cut waste within your area of responsibility. Maintain clean work areas, organize tools and supplies, and communicate effectively with team members. Complete maintenance requests and idea cards as needed, while operating lathe, drilling, and milling machines to support machine center uptime.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma/GED
- Must be 18+ years old to work in an industrial sawmill environment
- Must be able to continuously stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel, climb, and reach above shoulders safely
- The weight required to be lifted each normal workday may occasionally exceed fifty (50) pounds at a time
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug test and pre-employment physical exam
- Demonstrate problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
- Strong computer, communication, planning and organization skills
- Ensure safe work practices & follow safety procedures
- Dependable and reliable with a good attendance record
