Job Summary
Maintain bagging operations by troubleshooting and repairing equipment failures, including electrical and mechanical systems. Perform routine preventive maintenance on bagging equipment to ensure reliability and minimize unplanned downtime. Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair stationary industrial equipment, including conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems. Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and implement effective repair solutions in a timely manner. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. Align, level, and calibrate machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Perform welding, fabrication, and basic machining as needed. Inspect equipment regularly and identify potential issues before failures occur. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection reports. Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to improve equipment performance and efficiency. Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of experience as a millwright, maintenance technician, or in a related mechanical role
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of industrial equipment and systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting mechanical failures
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Basic welding and fabrication skills
- May require lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods
Desired Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments
- Experience working with composting, recycling, or material processing equipment
- Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
- Certification in welding, industrial maintenance, or related trade
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
- Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills
