Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild a variety of meat processing and packaging equipment including stuffers, smokehouses, chopper machines and high-speed packaging equipment. Repair and complete preventative maintenance on high-speed processing and packaging equipment including PLC controlled equipment, conveyors, and vacuum pumps. Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery as required. Remove and replace worn or defective parts. Start machines and equipment to test operation following repairs and maintenance. Responsible for maintaining food safety standards and report food safety issues to QA immediately. Work in a safe manner in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act by reporting hazards, accidents and incidents. Follow all prescribed SOPs, HACCP and GMP procedures. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Industrial Millwright certificate or qualifications (433A or 426A)
- 3-4 years of experience in a manufacturing facility
- Ability to read, write and communicate in English
- Knowledge and experience with high-speed equipment; pneumatic and hydraulic components
- Proficient mathematical and computer skills
- Ability to lift 60lbs and work in a cold environment
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Good communication and organizational skills
