Job Summary
Millwright/Mechanic responsible for reading detailed drawings and specifications for building and industrial equipment; disassembles and assembles for repairs using hand tools, tradesman tools, and welding equipment. Install plumbing for gas, water, steam, and hydraulic lines. Perform preventive maintenance and fill out required forms and reports. Operate machine and hand tools to grind, shape, fabricate, and alter equipment parts; welds, brazes, and machines parts and equipment; install and relocate equipment as required. Act as Emergency Responder to repair chlorine system malfunctions; complete emergency response tasks as directed. Must be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment. Involvement with lean and quality teams. Requires High School diploma and 3-5 years in industrial maintenance (hydraulics, pneumatics, millwright, pipe fitting, blueprint reading); strong ability to read schematics and safety documents, and to perform calculations and problem solving.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma
- Three to five years’ experience in industrial maintenance areas of hydraulics, pneumatics, millwright principles, pipe fitting and blueprint reading
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules/programs, schematics, prints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Mathematical skills to perform calculations
- Reasoning ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
