Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, and perform breakdown recovery work for plant equipment to ensure smooth facility operations. Install, assemble, and maintain machinery such as pumps, agitators, shredders, crushers, and milling equipment while conducting routine inspections and preventive maintenance. Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical failures, including motors, gearboxes, bearings, and hydraulic systems, using diagnostic tools to identify root causes. Assist in equipment installation, commissioning, and upgrades, and maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and parts used. Adhere to strict safety protocols, including lock-out/tag-out procedures and hazardous materials handling regulations, while collaborating with plant operators and management to address operational issues.
Required Qualifications
- Millwright certifications 433a
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance
- Ability to travel to USA for job-related training as required
- Ability to work in physically demanding conditions, including lifting heavy objects, standing for extended periods, and working in confined spaces
- Ability to wear a full-face respirator and meet clean-shaven requirements
- Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States or Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Technical training in electrical or mechanical systems
- relevant certifications
- experience in a metal recycling or manufacturing environment
- Strong understanding and experience with mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, motors, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics
- Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and other machining processes
- Understanding of basic electrical troubleshooting activities, motor control systems, PLCs, and VFDs
- Knowledge of safety standards and procedures (OSHA, NFPA 70E, etc.) for industrial operations
- Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues efficiently
- Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with colleagues across departments
